DESCRIPTION: APW - E Howard & Co, Boston, Series I, model 1858-A (Geller system), N-S (just over 19S), 14K rose gold tested period J H Johnson, NY, recased HC with plugged and redrilled ET gold cuvette, incuse eagle hallmark, KWKS, WE-SSD with two-line arched signature, lever escapement, 15J, gilt mvt, s#825, assembly #25. Gross weight of assembled watch 69.9 dwt (108.7 g).
CONDITION: Mvt: GRO, excellent mvt condition overall, faint oxide powder over bright-work; dial with faint hl below seconds-register, tiny flake at bottom rim of seconds-register hole; hands mint; case lift spring is good but rides over the ridge that it needs to push on, working but leaving play when upright; case shows light wear, many MFS and scuffs, no dents, a few dings to lids, rear cover closure needs tightening, cuvette with a protruding area above winding hole, complete detail with even reduction, testing stains inside case lids; bow tight, quite thinned at apex, push shows light wear; good glass crystal.
